NHS ENVIROTHON TEAM FINISHES 2ND OVERALL
On Friday December 5th, NHS sent seven teams of students to compete at the regional Envirothon competition at the Caloosahatchee Regional Park in Ft. Myers. Naples High School took the overall second place in the competition. In addition, NHS teams won the wildlife, aquatic ecology and current event sections of the competition.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP COLLIER FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS
The mission of Youth Leadership Collier™ is to develop ethical leaders committed to active community involvement. The program empowers students to become effective leaders, showcase Collier County and encourage students to consider coming back to their community to begin their careers and families.
Youth Leadership Collier™ is a week long intensive program that begins with a weekend of team-building activities. Participants interact in daily sessions designed to give them first-hand experience in different aspects of the community. Topics will include local government, healthcare, business, and the arts.
This program is June 13 to 19 and includes seven full-day sessions. The deadline to apply for selection is February 4, 2015. For the application, please click HERE.

NHS FIRST SEMESTER EXAM SCHEDULE

NHS ADDS A STATE CHAMPION
Naples High School junior, Shawn Lemarie won an individual State Championship in the 500 meter freestyle event at the Class 2A State Swim Meet on Friday, November 14, 2014 in Stuart, Florida. His time was 4:31.92 seconds.
In addition, the boys’ 400 meter freestyle relay team consisting of Brandon deTschaschell, Alex Bradfield, Aaron Bradfield, and Shawn Lemarie finished in 8th place at the meet.
GOLDEN EAGLE BASEBALL STUDENT ATHLETE SIGNS NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT
Garrett Zech has signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball for Coach Mark Kingston at the University of South Florida, in Tampa. Florida.
At Naples High School, Garrett has earned two varsity letters in football and three varsity letters in baseball. He also has earned the Naples High School Student-Athlete Award, which is given to those students who have earned three or more varsity letters in one or more sports and also have a 3.75 cumulative grade point average or above.
Garrett is the son of Brian and Michelle Zech and the brother of Kyle (Class of 2010) who played baseball at Stetson University and Jordan (Class of 2009) who played at both UCF and Villanova.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION
Attention All NHS Male Students! If you are a male ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday. It’s the LAW. You may go online (www.sss.gov.gov) or register at any post office and you do not need a social security number. Failure to register means you may be denied benefits such as scholarships and other awards. For more information, please click HERE.
Naviance is the method by which NHS submits transcripts and honor requests, informs seniors/juniors about upcoming college visits and scholarship applications. You must have a password. Please come down to the Counseling Office during lunch and after school to get this information and to learn more about Naviance.
