NHS ADDS A NEW GOLDEN APPLE RECIPIENT

Congratulations to one of this year's Golden Apple Award winners, Lacey Rosenblum, a standout Social Studies teacher here at Naples High School. Joining her in the 2015 Collier County Golden Apple Class of 2014-2015 are:

Each of these distinguished leaders in education will receive their award at the 25th Golden Apple Celebration of Teachers Dinner on April 17th.

DRUG FREE COLLIER PRESENT "A DUI PROMISE"

Thursday, March 5th in the Barron Collier High School Auditorium at 7 PM, Don’t miss this Mom’s incredible journey of forgiveness as she joins
the convicted drunk driver who killed her daughter. Together, Renee Napier & Eric Smallridge are on a mission to stop DUI. It promises to be one of the most moving presentations you will ever attend. EAGLES' ALL-SPORT BOOSTER CLUB'S - 21ST ANNUAL $10,000.00 CASH GIVE-AWAY

The Naples High School Eagles’ All-Sports Boosters proudly announce that their 21st annual $10,000.00 Cash Give-Away is now underway! As in past years, for a $100 donation you will receive one chance out of only two hundred to win $10,000.00… that’s right: Only 200 tickets will be made available and you need not be present to win! This year’s reverse drawing will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Naples High School cafeteria. Refreshments will be served. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit ALL sports at Naples High School.

NAPLES HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC BOOSTER CLUB AWARDS

Do you know of a Golden Eagle student who goes above and beyond at Naples High School or in the Naples community? If so you can nominate this deserving Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senion student for either the Citizenship Award, Leadership Award, or Student Volunteer Award. Nomination forms are available HERE and are due by Noon on Friday, March 6th in the NHS Guidance Department.

Selected students will receive $200 (Seniors) and $100 (Freshman-Juniors) along with being honored at the NHS Scholar Awards Nights later this Spring. Any question please contact Laurie Lile (NHS Chair of ABC Awards).

CCPS SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The 2015 CCPS Summer Driver Education Program will be available again this summer. All Naples Classroom/Driving Instruction will take place at Gulf Coast High School and approximately 90-136 student slots are available for the Summer Program. NHS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE TEEN TRENDSETTERS PROGRAM

A news crew from The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy visited Poinciana Elementary School on January 27th, 2015. The purpose of the visit was to record Naples High school students mentoring second grade students using resources funded by the Barbara Bush Foundation.  The Teen Trendsetters Program, which is funded by the foundation, pairs up high school students with elementary students who need support in reading. The goal of the program is to help children develop early literacy skills and a love for reading. The video segment will be featured at the 15th annual Florida Celebration of Reading Event, hosted by former Governor Jeb Bush and his wife, Columba. Representatives from both schools will be attending the special event and are excited to share their experiences with the Teen Trendsetter Program. SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION

Attention All NHS Male Students!  If you are a male ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday.  It’s the LAW.  You may go online (www.sss.gov.gov) or register at any post office and you do not need a social security number.  Failure to register means you may be denied benefits such as scholarships and other awards. NAVIANCE

Naviance is the method by which NHS submits transcripts and honor requests, informs seniors/juniors about upcoming college visits and scholarship applications.  You must have a password.  Please come down to the Counseling Office during lunch and after school to get this information and to learn more about Naviance.
